Rivet Magazine just feature Global Denim as mill of the week on its RIVETANDJEANS.COM website. We are so proud of this, and thank all of the Rivet team for making this possible.
Here’s an excerpt:
“There has been a lot of talk about Made in USA denim, but not much thought has been given to denim Made in the Americas. Denim sourced from Mexico offers the advantage of saved shopping time as production schedules grow increasingly tight. Global Denim, the Puebla-based mill operating since 1996, has an especially close tie to the U.S., sourcing 80 percent of its cotton in America.
The prevailing misconception that Mexican denim mills must combat is that they make basic product, explained Global Denim Creative Director Michelle Branch. Global Denim is defying preconceptions with its new Prime facility, located adjacent to the mill’s existing facility in Puebla. The mill is investing in new equipment and will use its top-of-the-line technology to target premium brands. The first Prime collection made its debut at Blueprint Denim Expo this week in New York City with new fibers, constructions and finishings…….”
We encourage you to keep reading this great piece in the following link;
Coming this June 22-23 on Fifth Avenue, New York City, Prime, the new premium brand from Global denim will make its debut on the Blueprint Expo 3.0
BPD Expo is branded as the anti- trade show, a new boutique style, interactive and creative expo, where you can source the best of denim, visit the trend therapy space, play with some indigo dye, learn shibori and much more. The best part, is it’s right in the middle of the city, easy in and easy out.
Following our participation at the Kingpins Show, Global Denim has made some noise! We are up on the Sportswear International website featured in the “Highlights for Kingpins Show article” along with some of the big industry names such as Candiani, Cone, Desert Studio and Blue Farm.
You can read the following extract:
“ The Mexican mill returned to Kingpins but as rep Michelle Branch explained it was “not calling out men’s versus women’s product this season” due to the fact that womenswear now employs traditionally male fabrics and vice versa. “The future is all about fashion on both the women’s and men’s sides,” she said, explaining that alternative silhouettes can be achieved with Global’s Tencel blend denims such as the Hollywood and Aspen and the 100% Tencel Carmel. Heavyweight standbys/carryovers, meanwhile, include the “perennial” Oakland, a 100% cotton denim that is 14+ oz.”
if you wish to read more about this, and see some of our garments in the photo gallery, please go to the following site.

For F17, Global Denim’s PATH leads down a brand new road where new shades abound and new yarns & constructions pop up along the way.
We found the path in Spring and have followed the same states of Enlightenment & Hardcore truths in Fall. In fact, we’ve moved it a step further, concentrating on refining our direction with new constructions & shades that celebrate the gender cross over happening in denim giving the consumer the freedom to seek their own paths; from feminine rigid to masculine stretch & everything in between.
Because Paths are about choices after all.
This season, the ENLIGHTENED PATH is illuminated in the dressed-up denim seen on runways around the world. Silhouettes usually gracing less democratic fabrics are prancing down catwalks clad in the beloved blue. Suits, dresses, shirts, jumpsuits & even shoes.
Enlightened’s lighter weights, new compact constructions, softness and focus on movement (stretch & recovery) pair perfectly with this walk towards alternative silhouettes.
Whether light or dark, new rich shades of twilight, ice, and blue storm offer range and allows creativity to soar.
The HARDCORE PATH is a different story in the same direction, but it leads more toward physicality. The fabrics in this group are really about comfort, the way you move down the Path and how it feels while you do it!
They’re weightier like the big decisions.
Most provide the flexibility of stretch you need for traveling life’s road… one way or another (that’s warp only or weft). Others provide the rigid balance needed for making sound decisions.
Both greet new constructions and find deeper meaning in new shades nocturnal & ultramarine as they run down the path to F17.
